As we welcome in the new year, it’s a time for many of us to reflect on the past year and set new goals and resolutions for the future. However, I want to challenge the idea of setting new hopes and goals for the new year, and instead suggest embracing a more free and open-minded approach to life in 2023.
One of the reasons why many of us set new year’s resolutions is because we feel like we haven’t accomplished enough in the past year, or that there is something missing in our lives.
We feel like we need to change something in order to be happier or more fulfilled. But this way of thinking can actually be quite limiting and restrictive.
By constantly setting new goals and hopes, we put a lot of pressure on ourselves to always be working towards something, and we can never truly enjoy the present moment.
Another issue with setting new year’s resolutions is that we often set unrealistic expectations for ourselves. We might think that we can completely change ourselves or our lives in just one year, when in reality change is a slow and gradual process. When we inevitably don’t meet these expectations, we can end up feeling defeated and demotivated.
Instead of setting 2023 new year’s resolutions, I suggest embracing a more open-minded and free approach to life. Instead of trying to change ourselves or our lives, let’s focus on accepting and loving ourselves as we are.
This doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t strive to improve or grow as individuals, but it does mean that we should do so without putting unnecessary pressure on ourselves.
Another way to embrace a more free and open-minded approach to life is by being more open to new experiences and opportunities. Instead of setting specific goals and plans, let’s be open to whatever comes our way. This way, we can be more adaptable and responsive to changes and unexpected opportunities.
In short, I believe that by not setting new hopes and goals for this year, we can lead a more free and open-minded life.
Instead of putting pressure on ourselves to change or improve, let’s focus on loving and accepting ourselves as we are. And instead of setting specific plans and goals, let’s be open to new experiences and opportunities that come our way.
2023 Happy New Year!
